Imagine being pulled over by a cop for a burnt-out taillight and instead of getting a warning or ticket, you get a gift card to make that repair. That is exactly what the Windcrest Police Department is doing. Where is Windcrest, Texas? Basically San Antonio. It's located to the East of 410 right before 410 and 35 North merge together.

As reported by KENS-TV in San Antonio the Windcrest Police Department has partnered with Advance Auto Parts. Here is how it works. Every Police officer will be carrying the Advance Auto Part gift cards. However, they will not be for people caught speeding or the more serious driving violations. They will be given to drivers that have a burnt-out headlight, taillight, license plate light, or minor repair issued. Officials said 'this program is not only to keep the community safe but also to brighten someone's day'

I GOT THREE WARNINGS ON ONE TRAFFIC STOP

Back in May, I was stopped after one of my gigs in the big city of Palacios, Texas. I knew I was speeding so I was ready to get a ticket. However, when the officer came to the window and said, I got you for speeding (72/55), you have a back taillight out, and I see your registration tag is expired. As he walked away to run my license, I thought this might be really expensive or maybe more considering it was three offenses in one stop. However, this Officer was very generous as he gave me a warning for the speed and burnt-out taillight. He then told me to update my registration this week. This officer definitely brightened my night. Thank you, sir.
