New Scams Target Stimulus Money From Senior Citizens and College Students
Scammers are at it again and this time they are targeting our College students and Senior citizens for their stimulus money.
College students are seeing scammers posing as university financial departments. It is a phishing scam that comes in the form of an email. The email will urge the students to view a message about their stimulus check. The link is actually the scammers link that looks like a legit college portal. DON'T DO IT!
Our Senior Citizens in nursing homes and assisted living facilities have also bee targeted. The Scammers, in this case, the facilities, are trying to get those residents to sign over their money. They tell the resident that since they are medicaid they are not entitled to the payment, they will then attempt to get them to sign over their stimulus check. NOT COOL 😠
I have put together a few tips to help you from getting scammed, check out gallery below.
