New Dining Options Coming to North Victoria

NEW RESTAURANT IN VICTORIA MALL:

It looks like the Victoria Mall is getting a new dining option. As I drove by yesterday, I noticed new signage at the old Chelsea Street Pub/Scoreboard location. The new restaurant will be called La Terraza Mexican Grill and will be a second Mexican Food option to Casa Ole in Victoria Mall After reaching out to the restaurant, I found out they plan to open their doors in September. This will be the third La Terraza in our area. They currently have locations in Seadrift and Yoakum. Arely, from LaTerraza, says. "The Tex Mex menu will be similar to the other two restaurants but not exactly the same." Have you eaten at one of their other locations yet?

MORE RESTAURANTS COMING?

If you have been driving down Navarro you have been seeing a lot of demolition lately. The area across the street from Lowes on Navarro is now wide open. The question is, what are they clearing it out for? I wanted to know too, so I requested information from the City of Victoria.  The City of Victoria is currently reviewing site plans for Burger King, McAlister's Deli, Arby's, and Taco Bueno. If site plans are approved, this area will look very different very soon.  Will this open the door for other eateries to come to Victoria? There appears to be plenty of room!

Okay, we already all about two of the proposed restaurants, but what about the other two. McAlister's Deli features sandwiches, spuds, salads, and soups.  Taco Bueno will feature tacos, burritos, and quesadilla's.

WHILE WE ARE AT IT, WHAT GOING ON WITH SHIPLEY'S?

If you have driven by the new Shipley's lately, you see that the property pretty much looks complete. So, what is the holdup? I reached out to Shipley's corporate office in Houston. They advised me, "that they are just waiting on inspections and should be able to open in the next two to three weeks."  I can't wait for those hot donuts.
