Murder Suspect from Los Angeles Arrested in Victoria County
A murder suspect from Los Angeles was arrested in Victoria County. The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department in reference to a person wanted for murder who was residing in Victoria County. LAPD detectives provided the Sheriff’s Office with a copy of an arrest warrant (murder) for Alfred Birdsong, (B/M 66 years old who is a resident of Victoria).
WHERE WAS HE APPREHENDED?
On December 2, 2024 at around 4:45 pm, members of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, Criminals Investigation Division and Patrol Division made contact with Mr. Birdsong in the 5300 Block of FM 447. Mr. Birdsong was arrested without incident and transported to the Victoria County Jail. An incredible effort by all involved: The Victoria Sheriff's Office ans SWAT team, and the detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Mr. Birdsong is being held at the Victoria County Jail for the out of state murder charge on a $2,000,000 bond
WATER RESTRICTIONS:
The City of Victoria is still in stage 2 water restriction. Under Stage II of the plan, residents are required to limit certain types of nonessential water usage to the hours of 6-10 a.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight to avoid water loss through evaporation. Activities that are limited to these times include using an automatic lawn sprinkler or hose-end sprinkler, filling pools and washing vehicles, although this restriction does not apply to commercial car washes and service stations.
