Mumford and Sons bassist Ted Dwane was rushed to the hospital on Monday (June 10) to receive emergency treatment after feeling unwell for several days. What the doctors found will require surgery, as well as the postponement of three shows scheduled for this week.

The group shared the news with fans on Facebook Tuesday morning, explaining: "The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."

The three postponed shows include Tuesday night's show in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday's show in the Woodlands, Texas and Thursday's (June 13) show in New Orleans, La. All shows will be rescheduled, and tickets will be honored at the new dates.

"We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour," a statement from the band reads.

This leg of Mumford's American tour wraps up on June 22, but they return to the States in late August for shows through mid-September. They began their North American tour on May 21 in Calgary, Alberta.
