Miranda Lambert’s Marital Bliss Will Be All Over New ‘Wildcard’ Album: ‘I Celebrated Joy’
"I didn’t leave it all behind on this record," Lambert tells People when asked about the tough-girl strength she is has become synonymous with, "But I definitely celebrated joy a lot more than I have before."
Since releasing her last album, 2016's heartbreak-filled The Weight of These Wings, Lambert is in a new phase of her life. She found love again after her divorce from Blake Shelton, with New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin. They married earlier this year, and the singer's happiness has made its way into her music.
"This record’s got some pizzazz and some pump to it," she explains.

"It was a conscious decision,” she adds, speaking of the contrast between her projects. "I guess in all ways. In life and in art. And don’t they go hand in hand most times, you know."
No matter how happy Lambert is with her current phase of life and the music she is creating, she is still dedicated to making those heartbreak hits that she has become known for.
"No matter how happy I am, there’s always this side of me that’s still a skeptic,” she admits. “I’ll always keep a little bit of that in me. I’m a sucker for a sad song."
Lambert's new album, Wildcard, will be available to download and stream on Friday (Nov. 1). The singer has already shared the songs "It All Comes Out in the Wash," "Mess With My Head," "Bluebird" and "Tequila Does" from the upcoming project.
She will embark on the Wildcard Tour in 2020.
