Luke Bryan was one of the many artists to honor Lionel Richie in a star-studded tribute to the singer and songwriter at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

John Legend kicked the performance off with a piano-driven rendition of "Easy Like Sunday Morning," a full brass band accompanying him. Demi Lovato took on "Hello" next, wowing the crowd with her through-the-roof vocals. Then, it was Bryan's turn.

While "Penny Lover" and country music aren't necessarily an obvious partnership, it was fun to see Bryan show off some vocal licks and and his dance moves in front of a whole lot of other celebrities.

The always-spunky and ultra-talented Meghan Trainor followed Bryan with "You Are," while Tyrese brought back lots of wedding dance memories with "Brick House." At the very end, Bryan and Legend brought Richie onstage for an arena-wide rendition of "All Night Long," and the entire crowd was 100-percent into the performance.

The smile on Bryan's face showed that he was having the time of his life onstage -- and to be surrounded by fellow musicians and legend Richie was no doubt a memorable performance. After all, Richie's music was important in Bryan's artistic development.

"This moment is a huge deal for me," he told People before the performance. "I was really young in the '80s, but Lionel Richie's music was a huge soundtrack to my life growing up in south Georgia because of my older brother and sister. So it means a lot that I could come to my first Grammys and be part of a tribute to someone I truly consider a hero -- and who is a great person. When you meet Lionel, that's what you leave with: what a good person he is."

Richie is a four-time Grammy winner who was honored as the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year. The performance was an extension of a gala dinner and all-star concert that took place on Saturday (Feb. 13).
