It's one of those undercover bangers. You know what we mean. We all know it by heart, but don't realize how great it is 'till it pops up from seemingly nowhere, and you're like "ohh yeah! That's a good one right there." Then you crank up the radio and sing along.

"Stars on the Water" was written and originally recorded by Rodney Crowell. Since then it has been covered by Jimmy Buffett, and without a doubt most famously by King George Strait. It was included on Strait's '01 album Road Less Traveled.

That takes us up to 2019, not too long ago Parker McCollum covered the song at his show at Stubb's BBQ in Austin. We're just over here hoping he sings it again at Koe Wetzel's Incredible Music Festival on March 23rd in Lindale - y'all got your tickets yet?
