The time has come; you are graduating high school. It's one of the biggest milestones of your life thus far. You have mixed feelings; on the one hand, you're so excited to be OUT OF THAT SCHOOL. No more waking up at ungodly hours sitting at your desk in classes that seem to drag on forever. On the other hand, that's it; no more being with friends for the majority of your day, no more sitting at the same lunch table you've sat at for the past four years with some of the same people you've known since kindergarten.

It's a conflicting feeling for sure. Walking that stage represents so much, but then what? You did your time; you made it through twelve years of school, so what's next?

Maybe you'll take it easy the first summer and weigh out your options. Party it up a bit, go crazy. Let that pile of laundry in the corner of your room morph into an entire castle of dirty clothes. Or maybe you'll get some sleepovers at your best friend's house in since you won't need to worry about bedtime or homework.

Future Options To Think About

Eventually, you are going to have to start thinking about your options for your future. Sure, you might have a little fun; I know I did, but responsibilities are going to kick in, and choices will need to be made.

Thinking about life after high school can be completely overwhelming. Do you go straight into work? Are you going to continue right on into college; if so, are you going to take a summer sabbatical or jump right in so you don't lose momentum?

Maybe a Family Business to Takeover?

Is there a family business to begin taking over, or are you just going to push the question further down into the depths of your conscious and try not to think about it? Well before you get to that point, there is a fantastic opportunity for high school students and recent graduates to help begin answering those questions.
