“Knowledge Bowl” Friday

Brainiacs - or those who think they are - will gather Friday at the Victoria College Student Center for the annual Knowledge Bowl. The event, presented by the Rotary Clubs of Victoria and benefiting the Victoria Adult Literacy Council, features teams of four in both adult and student divisions competing in Trivial Pursuit-like competition.

According to the Victoria Advocate,teams answer a variety of questions, a total of 150 in three rounds of 50 questions each, based on subjects including history, arts, literature, science, geography, pop culture and current events. Answers are tabulated and the winners are announced.

The defending adult division champions are the Wise Ones from Calhoun County. In the student division, a team from St. Joseph High School took top honors in 2012.
