Texas A&M University-Victoria's Transition Celebrated At Jag Fest

On September 1, the University of Houston - Victoria officially made the change to Texas A&M University-Victoria. On September 2, classes started, and this weekend, Jag Fest will celebrate a new chapter for the college.

If you take a drive down Ben Wilson, you see the changes taking place, and this is just the beginning. Texas A&M - Victoria is the 12th campus of the Texas A&M System.

Jag Fest will be held on Thursday, September 4, in DeLeon Plaza. Not only is this the start of the new academic year, but it's also the celebration of the colleges' merger.

The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to wear red to show their support for the university. Enjoy food vendors including 5D Tavern, Seaux Cajun, Cattleman’s Catering, Trevino’s, and Chick-fil-A. The Green Cow Creamery will also be on hand and handing out 500 free scoops of a new A&M ice cream flavor.

Brother Gary will open up the event with a welcome at 6 p.m. The Staudt Brothers will provide live entertainment! The Staudt Brothers will perform at Victoria's BBQ & Brew Music Festival.

The Staudt Brothers will also be performing a full set at the Crossroads BBQ & Brew Music Festival in downtown Victoria on Saturday, November 8.
