The Texas Six Flags Rollercoaster Name Is In Jeopardy!
The Six Flags Over Texas iconic roller coaster, the Texas Giant, may lose its name and it's all due to the NBA finals.
This is one risky bet. With the NBA finals, which sees the Boston Celtics playing the Dallas Mavericks- their theme parks have decided to make a friendly little wager.
The Dallas area- Arlington- is home to Six Flags Over Texas and Boston is just about 100 miles away from Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts. The wager? Their roller coaster names!
If Boston wins, then Six Flags Over Texas will have to rename its Texas Giant to "Boston Giant," while a traditional Celtic band will follow Six Flags Over Texas Park President, Richard Douaihy, around for an entire day.
If Dallas wins, Six Flags New England will have to change the name of its New England SkyScreamer to "Dallas SkyScreamer," while a country and western band will follow Six Flags New England Park President, Pete Carmichael, for the day.
There is one good thing about this. and that's for the fans! If Boston wins, the Texas park will offer free admission during one week to anyone with a valid Massachusetts ID. And on a date to be determined, the first 100 guests through the gates of Six Flags Over Texas will be served Boston Cream Pie.
Over in Massachusetts, anyone with a valid Texas ID gets the free admission, and the first 100 guests through the gates on the date that is to be determined, get Dallas Pecan Pie.
I don't think I have to tell you that things are not looking good for the Texas Giant. Boston is leading 3-0, and unless a miracle happens, we may have to get used to the idea that the Texas Giant will soon become the Boston Giant!
