You can mark this in the category of things you will only see in Texas. Over the weekend a video started to make the rounds on social media. The video was of a Whataburger dining room that was taken over by High School Mariachi's and it is absolutely incredible! The Whataburger in question has been identified as the location in Refugio, Texas. See the full video below.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

I reached out to the content creator that posted the video, dan_is_back__ on Instagram. He confirms that both of the groups were on the way back from a UIL Mariachi competition in Robstown, Texas. Both teams both unknowingly stopped at the Refugio Whataburger at the same time and the rest is history. They performed for patrons and staff of the restaurant. What an awesome example of our youth embracing our culture and keeping it alive for the next generation and generations to come!  A big thank you to Danny Perez and Daisy Zambrano for sharing their story with KLUB Tejano.

THE TWO MARIACHI TEAMS:

One of the mariachi groups featured in the now viral Whataburger video is Mariachi Bicentenario from Sam Houston MSTC High School

The other group is Klein Collin's High School Mariachi Estrella de me Tierra

Good luck to these two Mariachi groups and all competing and keeping our tradition and culture alive.  WE LOVE THIS!
