It's April 9, 2024, the Solarbration is over, now what Texas and Arkansas? With all the rain and no eclipse to look forward to, what in the world are we supposed to do with these glasses? This might be a little different, but we have a suggestion.

Donate Them

I know, this is not your usual donation item, and the Salvation Army or Goodwill probably won't take them. So, donate to who, and why?

Glad you asked.

Believe it or not, we are not the only folks on planet Earth to have an eclipse, there are two of them each year, the next one is coming up in October of this year. We, however, will not be able to see this next one coming around, but South America will, and some places are more worried about feeding themselves each day rather than figuring out how to look at the eclipse. I bet they would like to see it if possible, and you can make it possible for some to do just that, by donating your viewers.

Texas and Arkansas won't get a chance to see another eclipse until a partial in 2025, the next total eclipse won't come around until August 12, 2045, I'll be 83, so a lot of us may not be around for that one. Instead of just chucking your viewers into the trash, why not send them here:

Eclipse Glasses USA, LLC
PO BOX 50 571
Provo, UT 84605

Please send them before August 1 so they can be distributed in time for South American kids to get them before the total eclipse down there later this year.

Sure, save a pair to gather dust in your memory box, but any extras you may still have can get new life.

Kind of a neat idea I thought.
