Interesting Billboard To Strike Out STD’s For All-Star Game In Texas
As major league baseball fans make their way to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, they are seeing a reminder to be careful with their sexual health.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), recognized for its HIV/AIDS healthcare services, has placed a prominent billboard along I-30 in Dallas strategically positioned to catch the eye of eastbound traffic heading towards the game.
The billboard boldly displays the slogan "Be an All-Star" alongside the URL freeSTDcheck.org, set against a backdrop featuring a stylized map of Texas, elements of the state seal, and the outline of a batter in action.
STD rates are surging across Texas and the United States. The campaign draws attention to statistics specific to Texas, where syphilis cases increased by 22% from 2020 to 2022, showing the need for heightened awareness and testing. AHF's billboard will be visible until the end of July, serving as a visual prompt for fans to take proactive steps regarding their sexual health.
Michael Weinstein, AHF's president and co-founder, emphasizes the importance of preventive measures such as condom use, practicing safer sex, and regular STD testing. AHF provides free and nonjudgmental STD testing across its 41 Wellness Centers nationwide, including three in Texas, ensuring accessibility and privacy for all.
Beyond its primary focus on HIV/AIDS care, AHF's commitment to free STD testing and treatment reinforces its mission to empower individuals in safeguarding their well-being.
As baseball fans gather for the All-Star Game, AHF advocates responsible sexual health practices amidst ongoing public health challenges.
