The Houston Astros are fighting to stay in first place in the American League West and held on to that lead with a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels yesterday, making their win streak five games. Now, the Astros head back to minute Maid Park in Houston to take on the Oakland A's for a 3-game stand.

Framber Valdez got his first start on the mound for Houston, going five innings and giving up one run. He also struck out three batters, allowed two hits and three walks.

At the plate, Carlos Correa drove in two runs, and Marwin Gonzales hit an RBI single that gave the Astros the win.

Tha Astros have a 1 & a half game lead over Oakland in the division so, this will be an important series. First game is tonight at 7:10pm.
