Help is On the Way East Texas and Louisiana BIG TIME
Hurricane Laura hit the Louisiana coast with full force last night. The storm, which became a hurricane for the first time at 8:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning went through a period of rapid intensification and made landfall overnight as a STRONG Category 4 storm with 150 mph winds.
Since the storm made landfall in the dead of night, we were not able to get a good look at the destruction until this morning. Some of the pictures and videos are heartbreaking. Not only are residents having to return to unrecognizable homes and cities along the coast, but almost 1 MILLION residents throughout Texas and Louisiana are also currently without power.
This is pretty much what it felt like here in the Crossroads during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey made landfall on August 25th, 2017, almost exactly three years to the day of Hurricane Laura.
One thing I remember the most is how other communities in Texas and other states came to our aid in our time of need. That is exactly what is happening now! Help is on the way East Texas and Louisiana, BIG TIME!
Not only are emergency crews heading to the impacted areas. Electric Workers and Linemen are heading in from all over the United States including Florida, Utah, Ohio, and Texas.
