On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Meals on Wheels Victoria will deliver 2000 holiday meals to homebound individuals residing within the city limits of Victoria as part of H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing Celebration.

With in-person dinners on hold until 2021, H-E-B is partnering with non-profits such as Meals on Wheels Victoria for large-scale meal distributions and deliveries across Texas and Mexico.

Meals on Wheels Victoria and H-E-B have partnered to extend the Feast of Sharing to the homebound population for the holiday season right here in Victoria!

Two meals, a hot meal prepared by MOW Victoria kitchen staff (with turkeys smoked at Schroeder Hall), and a chilled H-E-B Meal-Simple meal will be distributed to each of the first 1000 homebound individuals that register.

“We are excited to establish this partnership with H-E-B and look forward to its continuation in the years to come,” said Meals on Wheels Victoria Executive Director Dan Williams-Capone. “We are especially glad to be able to offer this expanded holiday meal service this year, when the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown so many people’s holiday plans in disarray.”

It's another opportunity for you and your family to serve the needs of others in our amazing community!

MOW Victoria is looking for 100 volunteers or volunteer teams to help with the holiday meal deliveries on December 17th.

With 100 volunteers, each has a very manageable 10 deliveries.

This is a wonderful activity to do with children who may be home or out of school. Contactless delivery protocols are in place, to help reduce opportunities for viral transmission.

Individuals interested in volunteering can contact Diana Alarcon at Meals on Wheels Victoria at 361-576- 2189.

If you are homebound or know someone who is and would like to register for MOW Victoria holiday meals, call Meals on Wheels Victoria at 361-576-2189 or check out their Facebook page here.

Thank you to HEB, MOW Victoria, and ALL THOSE THAT CHOOSE TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF OTHERS in our community.

Thank you to Dan Williams-Capone, Executive Director of MOW Victoria for his contribution to this article.
