Hear Luke Combs Join Brooks & Dunn for Rebooted ‘Brand New Man’
Brooks & Dunn have enlisted a an all-star cast -- including Luke Combs -- for a new duets project, and on Friday (Feb. 8), the iconic country duo and the rising star shared their new version of Brooks & Dunn's "Brand New Man." Readers can press play above to listen.
"Brand New Man" is the title track of Brooks & Dunn's 1991 debut album, which went triple platinum. The song itself -- written by Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn and Don Cook -- was their debut single and hit No. 1; at that time, Brooks & Dunn were only the second country band ever to have their first single top the charts.
“Brooks & Dunn’s music absolutely had a tremendous impact on me. To me, they invented that foot-stomping, driving sound," says Combs in a press release. "And it’s so cool that this has turned into such an awesome album, with artists that actually grew up listening to Brooks & Dunn. Their music was so influential to us that having the chance to come in and bounce ideas off the guys and sing with them in the studio was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Brooks & Dunn and Combs' version of "Brand New Man" will be featured on Reboot, a brand-new album that will feature Brooks & Dunn performing some of their best-loved and most well-known songs with artists including Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Brett Young, Lanco, Ashley McBryde, Midland, Brothers Osborne, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi and Tyler Booth. A full track list is not yet available, but Brown's version of "Believe" with the duo also dropped on Friday.
A release date for and further details about Reboot have yet to be revealed. The project will be Brooks & Dunn's first since 2007's Cowboy Town. The duo famously announced in 2009 that they were splitting up, after more than 20 years together; their Last Rodeo Tour concluded on Sept. 3, 2010, at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
After Brooks & Dunn's split, both men embarked on solo careers. The duo reunited in 2015 for a still-running Las Vegas residency, along with their good friend Reba McEntire.
