Halloween Fans! Happy Meal Fans! A true classic is coming  back for the Halloween season - THE HALLOWEEN HAPPY MEAL BOO BUCKET! I know, as kids we suffered through a lot of crappy, er, I mean "sub-par" Halloween toys in the McDonald's Happy Meal. Remember the Ronald McDonald Paper "Mask?" Horrible. Anyways, the pails were great (in my humble opinion) and could hold a reasonable amount of candy.  To be clear, not a pillow case amount, but reasonable.  The Boo Buckets were first released in 1986.  Here's the first commercial from back in the day...

NOSTALGIA GOES A LONG WAY...

The fast food chain is now hoping on those kids from the mid 80's, now in their mid 30's or early 40's, to feel a bit nostalgic and buy them for their kids.  Here was the big twitter announcement...

If you notice at the bottom of the post, it reads "while supplies last," that is because both the company and industry experts seem to think these will sell out.  I am not expecting a crazy 90s beanie baby-type hysteria, but I think there will be hightned interest.

SOME WILL BE UPSET...

Despite what most people think will be the triumphant return of the boo bucket, they are some haters. Some Happy Meal collectors, writers, bloggers, etc. have put the boo bucket or the halloween pail on the worst Happy Meal toys list. The main reason - a bucket is not a toy.  A little nit-picky, but I get the point.

McDonald's has the Boo Bucket back on Tuesday October 18th at participating locations.  Hopefully one of the three McDonald's in Victoria will be participating.  If not, that could be really scary! (Vincent Price laugh) Haaaa Haaa Haaa! I guess I'll just drive to Cuero...
