Gas Prices Continue to Rise
I have noticed that prices at the pumps have been slowly rising. According to a report by CBS-LOCAL in Dallas/Fort Worth, gas prices rose for the second consecutive week and the price of gas is the highest it has been since March of 2020. AAA reports that the statewide average price for gas is $2.12 per gallon.
The most expensive gas in the state can be found in the El Paso area at $2.32 a gallon, while the cheapest gas in Texas will be found in the Sherman area at $1.99 a gallon. Historically the gas price in Victoria always fall towards the lower end. For example, today, I filled up for $1.99 a gallon. Currently, gas in Texas is third lowest price in the Country. The National average for a gallon of regular unleaded sits at $2.40.
Some have come to the conclusion that the higher gas prices and the COVID-19 vaccine are connected. As reported by local10.com AAA spokesman, Mark Jenkins says “The price hikes reflect the gains made in crude oil prices, which have been propped up by optimism that COVID-19 vaccines will eventually lead to more global fuel consumption.”
It was nice those couple of times I filled up at 1.69 a gallon, but we knew it wouldn't last forever. Safe travels my friends and check the cost of gas the year you were born below.
