Garth Brooks is extending his live concert dominance to the Great White North. The country superstar has shattered his previous record in Ottawa, Ontario, selling out three arena shows in a single day.

Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, embarked on a massive world tour last year, and it's been a smash success, selling out multiple nights in many cities across the United States.  Pollstar crowned him the top touring country artist for the first half of 2015, and Brooks topped Forbes year-end list of the highest-earning stars in country music, with total earnings of $90 million.

The superstar initially announced a single concert date for Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre on April 2, but when tickets went on sale Friday morning (Jan. 22), demand was so high that he quickly added two more shows, on April 1 and April 3. Brooks shattered his previous Ottawa ticket sales record of 36,952, which he set in 1996 when the venue was still called the Ottawa Palladium. According to a press release he has sold 50,000 tickets, with all three shows completely sold out.

Brooks released a new studio album, Man Against Machine, in 2014, and he's featuring a mix of his past biggest hits and new material at his live gigs. The shows also feature old and new songs from Yearwood, who released her latest project, PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit, last November.
