For the second year, The Club at Colony Creek is offering a Free Ladies Golf Clinic Program. "The success of this program in 2013 inspired us to offer it again this year," Matt Fawkes, director of golf and the program instructor, told the Victoria Advocate. It is not necessary for ladies to bring their own golf clubs, and the program is open to the public. "Reservations are not required; just show up and be prepared for an enjoyable, relaxed, stress-free introduction to the game of golf," said Fawkes. "The program also provides a fun way for ladies to meet other women interested in golf, a game that forges lifelong friendships."

The club is hosting nine sessions over a 12-week period beginning Wednesday. Sessions are scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at The Club at Colony Creek, 301 Colony Creek Drive. The program begins with an emphasis on putting and progresses through the fundamentals of golf. The final three sessions are designed to be on-course clinics that focus on etiquette, rules and on-course play. Last year, the program started with 16 women and grew to 84 participants.
