One thing I love to write about day trips and vacations!  Here is another great Christmas destination or day trip idea, Fredericksburg!  According to Country Living, Fredericksburg has been ranked at number 50 on the list of the 55 best Christmas towns.

Fredericksburg during the Christmas season makes the top of the list for good reason. Whether it's ice skating or taking in the 30-foot Christmas Tree. There is also a ton of shopping along Main St. Not to mention the absolutely stunning Christmas decorations Downtown. You can also enjoy the wine trail and local cuisine, or experiencing one of the many special events, Just a few of the reasons that Fredricksburg has made the list.

Check out just a few of the awesome Christmas events that happen in Fredericksburg.

You can experience the transformation of the town into a holiday wonderland during an approximately 10-minute audio program, including traditional holiday music and a brief history of the 26-foot German Christmas Pyramid and Christmas Tree. The program will conclude with a grand finale countdown to the illumination of all of Marktplatz.

You can also get a little ice skating done on real ice!   The hours of the ice rink are 4 to 8 PM weekdays through Dec 18.  Open 10 AM to 10 PM daily beginning Dec 19, 1 to 8 PM on Sundays, until Jan 3.  Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and closing at 6 PM on New Year’s Eve.

Ring in the New Year in Fredricksburg.  Head out to the New Year's Eve Ball in Luckenbach Texas.  Sunny Sweeny will be live on stage with Jesse Daniel opening the show.
