Memorial Day Ceremony At The Field of Honor In Victoria
There are many events celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with BBQ, live music, and get-togethers. But the true meaning of Memorial Day is to mourn and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the Armed Forces. And Victoria will mark the true meaning of Memorial Day with a ceremony at the Field of Honor.
Victoria's Memorial Day Ceremony will take place May 25 at the Field of Honor.
The ceremony will take place at the Field of Honor in Victoria, 4802 John Stockbauer, adjacent to Parkway Church, on Monday, May 25, at 7:05 p.m. The special ceremony will remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
Young Volunteers are needed in the 7-county area.
Warriors Weekend is also looking for young volunteers from the ages of 12-19 from all seven counties in the Crossroads: Victoria, Lavaca, Jackson, Gonzales, Goliad, DeWitt, and Calhoun.
The Field of Honor has humble beginnings in Victoria. The original location was at the corner of Sam Houston and Mockingbird before being moved to its current location on John Stockbauer in 2015. The site can be very powerful
@jennnolanfishingLast week I had the honor of standing watch over the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall in Victoria. Warriors Weekend hosted the wall at the Field of Honor. As a veteran of the Unote States Navy, 3rd generation and my father having served during Vietnam, it was truly an honor to serve, and continues to be an honor to protect. Please come out and show thanks to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and continue to secure our freedom.
