One of the proudest moments of the year for me as a Victorian, patriot and military brat is celebrating Warrior's Weekend and honoring my father, retired Sr. Master Sergeant Emil Jake Mayenzet at the historic Field of Honor located at 4802 John Stockbauer Dr.

It was crushing to hear that Warrior's Weekend had to cancel due to coronavirus, but I am blessed to know many of the men and women behind the scenes of Warrior's Weekend and can assure you Warrior's Weekend in 2021 will be stellar and I am certain even more incredible for the soldiers who are in anticipation of the celebration to come.

And there is most certainly a celebration to come as Col.Mike Petrash announced on the Warrior Weekend Facebook page this morning that not only will the Field of Honor be reschedule for October 17th through November 30th, but this year is going to be even more amazing as the Field of Honor plans to include FIRST RESPONDERS as well as VETERANS.

Do you know a first responder you would like to pay tribute and honor? Here is our opportunity as a community to be a part of what makes Victoria such an amazing community to live in. Did you know Victoria is unique in providing a Filed of Honor in their community. Warrior's Weekend is equally unique for Texas.

For veterans and now first responders, our support and presence truly means the world to them.

Have you seen the new Honor Pavilion? Next time you're driving on John Stockbauer be sure to stop and look! October 17th will be AWESOME!

Here are a few words from Col. Petrash regarding the new Honor Pavillion

"We are about to complete the Pillars, Podiums, and benches inside the Honor Pavilion! Plaques and pavers can still be sponsored by individuals and businesses to support this reverent tribute to the Golden Crescent Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen who were killed in action from WWI to the present. Their names have been retrieved from Calhoun, Dewitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, and Victoria counties and will be inscribed within the Pavilion as a permanent tribute to their sacrifice for this Nation. Please contact me with your questions. Let's pour honor into their memories"

You can welcome to contact Col. Petrash directly on his personal Facebook page here.
