There are a lot of ways to go out, but a fentanyl-laced box of chocolates isn't the most ideal. Finding out your ex is getting married isn't an easy pill to swallow for many, but none more so than a 63-year-old Texas woman.

Pamela Stanley from Coleman, Texas, didn't take the news about her ex getting married very well. Coleman allegedly started plotting a deranged plan to poison her newly engaged ex-husband.

As Stanley revealed her sick plan to an acquaintance, she had no idea she was being recorded. Her strategy was to inject fentanyl into expensive chocolates and mail them to her ex-husband disguised as a honeymoon gift.

A tip led to a full-blown undercover investigation.

Stanley planned to meet up with dealers to buy the fentanyl she would use in her plan. Once everything was arranged, she drove several hours to meet up at the Scottish Inn Motel in Weatherford. However, she would soon find out it was all part of a plan, even more elaborate than hers.

Stanley arrived at the Motel, and when she received the fentanyl, she immediately found out that the men she was meeting up with were actually SCU investigators posing as fentanyl dealers.

Stanley was immediately taken into custody after the deal was complete, but investigators would find more criminal evidence. As officers searched her vehicle, they found 11.76 grams of methamphetamine.

Stanley is being held on a nearly half-million-dollar bond. She has been indicted on 3 felony charges, including: criminal solicitation with intent to commit murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
