It's crawfish time!

Saturday, April 24th will be a HUGE day for those of us who LOVE crawfish AND our local fire departments! It's the 14th ANnual Crawfish Festival to benefit the Ganado Fire Department at Dever's Creek Park at 1200 West Southerland  Avenue from 2 pm until all the crawfish are gone! The crawfish boil will also include sausage, corn, and potatoes too! There will be fun for the WHOLE FAMILY and for a GREAT CAUSE!

We've got ten opportunities for you to win four-pack tickets to join the Ganado community, those in the Crossroads that support our local volunteer fire departments, and the Ganado Volunteer Fire Department who just celebrated a big win- they've got new graduates to their department!

The guys and gals in Ganado have been doing this fundraising festival for years now and it's a staple for Ganado residents, so shout out to Ganado Volunteer Fire Department volunteers and supporters as they celebrate their 14th year of the Crawfish Festival.

There will be live music and crawfish coming to you straight from Louisiana.

With all this talk about crawfish and Louisiana, it reminds us of the great cajun jokes we tell around here! One of my personal favorites is, " What is the loneliest Bayou in Louisiana? " All Bayou Self."  Or how about this one? " Do you get to travel to Louisiana often? " No, only on a cajun."

Okay so our jokes might be a little corny but the mission of the Ganado Volunteer Fire Department isn't. The men and women who go through rigorous training and tests to become volunteer firemen are there to keep you, your family and your property safe from the harm of fire. We thank each and every one of them. Even if you don't win tickets you can still show your support and show up at Dever's Creek Park on April 24th. It will be a great time and in Lousiana, our motto is to LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
