I can't believe in another month and a half we are going to be right back to another active Hurricane Season in the Gulf of Mexico. I guess the Yankees pretty much get six months of winter these days, and in the Crossroads, we pretty much get six months of Hurricane Season.

Emergency Preparation Supplies are Tax-Free April 24 to April 26

Beginning at Midnight Saturday until 11:59:59 pm on Sunday you can grab a ton of emergency preparation supplies without the sales tax. Comptroller.Texas.Gov has the official list including all of the items we will talk about shortly and TONS more. This really is a great chance to save on everything from batteries to phone chargers to Hurricane Shutters.

This Tax Holiday is In-Store & Online

Good lord, what? Yes, according to the Office of the Texas Comptroller the great state of Texas is going to go ahead allow this one sales Tax Holiday to be both in-store, online, and over the phone. "All taxpayers should know the sale of emergency preparation supplies purchased online or by telephone, mail, custom order, or any other means other than in-person qualify for sales tax exemption." So as long as you order, and pay for, emergency preparation supplies and the seller accepts your order during the exemption period, the sale on those items will be tax-free.

What's Not Included?

I noticed the comptroller listed facemasks, masks, disinfecting wipes, and toilet paper as examples of items that are not emergency supplies and thus, will not be tax-free.
