Recent Floods Lead to an Eerie Feel at Texas Waterpark
There is something about abandoned places that intrigues most of us. During the recent floods in central Texas, Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels was forced to close due to rising waters on the Comal River. A video posted to TikTok shows an active water park to appear abandoned, and it's kind of creepy. Schlitterbahn has already reopened for business.
Schlitterbahn is fed by the Comal river.
For those of you who don't know, Schlitterbahn has two sections. The original West section is directly fed from the Comal River, which feeds water to many of the slides at the original park. As a precaution during flooding and massive rain events, the park will drain some of the slides. This is to prevent runoff, debris, and contaminated water from being used on rides. The video was posted to TikTok by ch3rrybombp0p.
@ch3rrybombp0p first time i’ve ever seen the tube rides without water! obviously this dosent matter at all since people have lost their lives, it’s still interesting to see! #schlitterbahn#schlitterbahnwaterpark#newbraunfels#tiktok#trending♬ aquatic ambience - Scizzie
