East Titan Graduate Zac Leigh Drafted by Cubs

EAST TITAN DRAFTED BY BOSTON RED SOX:

Victoria continues to produce top-notch baseball players! Victoria East Titan graduate, Zach Leigh was selected by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in the 16th round as the 484th selection of the Major League Baseball Draft.  The East Titans continue to produce great baseball talent. If you remember back in 2018, East Titan, Jonathan Ortega was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 19th round of Major League Baseball’s draft and we can't forget about Andre DelBosque(STJ) who was drafted by the Yankees in 2014.

LEIGH SHARES HIS BEST BASEBALL MEMORIES...

Our intern, Joseph Lozano caught up with the East Titan/Texas State graduate yesterday at Riverside Stadium.  During the interview, Leigh shares his favorite baseball memories for both teams.  His favorite High School baseball memory was pitching in the 2014 state Championship game versus Aledo at Dell Diamond. At Texas State Zac, took the mound to close out a championship game and got the three outs he needed. Therefore winning the Bobcats a State championship against UT-Arlington.  Zac will continue to work hard and hopefully earn a chance to take the legendary Wrigley field mound.  

ZAC'S ADVICE TO THE KIDS:

'Never quit, never give up!'  Baseball is a game of failure and nothing EVER comes easy. In this game, you stick with it.'
