The Children’s Discovery Museum is thrilled to participate in NEA’s Read Across America day by offering children, parents, educators and students the opportunity to explore the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss as we celebrate his would-be 111th Birthday! Today between 10:00am and 3:00pm, Ethel Lee Tracy Park will be transformed into a Seussational world of literature, and we would like to invite children from around the Golden Crescent to participate. We hope you can join in on the fun!
“Oh the places you’ll go” as you travel through the park and find booths designed around famous Dr. Seuss books that allow children to partake in different Seussical crafts or activities. It will be a day packed with hands-on learning experiences, from learning how to prepare a pony for the horse show (we will have a live pony) to learning how to build a house (thanks to Habitat for Humanity) to learning about "The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You"! Loads of Seuss-themed literary activities from the National Education Association will be incorporated into the event. Students may even picnic while in the park!
