Psychiatrist Dr. Foster Cline will visit Victoria this week to teach parents and educators ways they can make parenting and learning fun. The Children's Discovery Museum is hosting two events featuring the nationally-known speaker - one Friday for parents and another Saturday for teachers. "We're excited about being able to provide this resource to parents and teachers of the Golden Crescent," Melissa Dixon, Children's Discovery Museum executive director, told the Victoria Advocate.

Cline will present his "Love and Logic" model, which harnesses tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children and grandchildren.

VIP tickets include drinks and heavy hor d'oeuvres. The doors open with a silent auction and raffle. Free childcare is provided at the museum for the first 40 preregistered children. Proceeds benefit the Children's Discovery Museum.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and raffle. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Welder Center Box Office or online at weldercenter.org. For more information on the teacher session Saturday, call the Children's Discovery Museum at 361-485-9140 or email cdm204@sbcglobal.net.
