Don’t Forget About the 2020 Census

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Victoria County is showing strong numbers in early census returns.  Please don't ignore the Census and respond A.S.A.P.  As of Monday, April 6, 45.1 percent of the nation’s households have responded to the Census either online or by phone, moving responses up the needle. Here is the latest information on where we are as a state and Metroplex:

 Texas                                      40.4 percent

Victoria County                    40.2 percent

Lavaca County                      37.5 percent

Calhoun County                   22.5 percent

Goliad County                       31.6 percent

Gonzales                               28.9 percent

 Residents can still respond online until August 14, 2020, at https://2020census.gov/ or by phone.  If households haven’t responded yet, they will receive a paper questionnaire this week. It has never been easier to respond on your own—all without having to meet a census taker.
