Dolly Parton serves up the first taste of her upcoming Netflix show, Dolly Parton's Heartstrings, in a new trailer that offers a glimpse into each of the series' eight episodes. Press play above to get a peek!

"Songs -- they're just stories set to music," Parton says in the trailer, which premiered via People. "Songs that I've written, they're stories of my life: Every triumph, every struggle, every smile, every sorrow. It's the melody of my memories. It's the sound of my heartstrings."

Each episode of Heartstrings centers around one of the iconic performer's hits, tellings stories inspired by the lyrics of the song. The first episode will focus on "Jolene," and subsequent installments will be based on "These Old Bones," "JJ Sneed," "If I Had Wings," "Cracker Jack," "Sugar Hill," "Down From Dover" and "Two Doors Down."

Parton herself appears onscreen in every episode, and fans will likely see some other familiar faces in the Heartstrings trailer, too. Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Julianne Hough co-star in the "Jolene" episode,  a story line in which Parton takes on the role of Babe, the owner of the honky tonk where the titular character (played by Hough) works.

Other stars appearing in the series include Kathleen Turner, Katie Stevens, Melissa Leo, Ginnifer Goodwin and Delta Burke. People reports that Parton premiered "Heartstrings" in late October during an industry event that took place at Dollywood in her hometown of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

“When I do something special, I love to have my family be a part of it and all my neighbors,” Parton told media at the time. “This is where it all started. This is who I am. This is where I came from. We have Dollywood, and this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We couldn’t do better over in Hollywood and like I said, this is where it all started, so why not come home to do it?”

Dolly Parton's Heartstrings will debut on Netflix on Nov. 22.
