A Disagreement Turns Deadly at a Youth Texas Football Game

Lancaster Police have issued a warrant for Yaqub Salik Talib after a youth football game in Lancaster, Texas turned deadly over the weekend.

TENSION AT A KID'S FOOTBALL GAME

A stir between the coaching staff and officials began to rise during the Lancaster football game. According to Tevar Watson, one of the team's owners, there were around 80 children at the game. Witnesses who were observing the game told police a disagreement sparked tension during the game.

A press release further filled in the blanks about how the disagreement snowballed into something much more lethal. The press release explained, that the disagreement between officials and coaching staff escalated into a physical altercation.

THE SITUATION ESCALATED

The situation continued to escalate when "One of the individuals involved in the altercation discharged a firearm striking one adult male," according to the press release.

The victim was identified Sunday as Michael "Mike" Hickmon, a youth football coach, according to the family. Sadly, Mike was taken to a local hospital but he later died from his injuries.

ARREST WARRANT ISSUED

Lancaster police said they're searching for Yaqub Salik Talib, who is the brother of former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
