Danielle Bradbery channels her inner Lady Gaga for a smooth new version of "Shallow," tapping the talented Parker McCollum as her partner for the duet. From the hit 2018 movie A Star Is Born, the song was originally recorded by Gaga and actor Bradley Cooper. Press play above to listen to the moving cover.

Bradbery and McCollum's version of "Shallow" opens with his emotion query: "Tell me something, girl / Are you happy in this modern world? / Or do you need more? / Is there something you're searching for?" He's answered by Bradbery's soaring vocals: "Tell me something, boy / Aren't you tired tryin' to fill that void? / Or do you need more? / Ain't it hard keeping it so hardcore?"

The pair then launch into a harmony-laden chorus: "I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in / I'll never meet the ground / Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us / We're far from the shallow now."

Bradbery learned of fellow Texan McCollum at a concert in Houston, picking up on the audience's enthusiastic reception of his gritty, heartfelt sound. She reached out to the singer-songwriter and brought him on board with legendary producer Dann Huff to create the cover.

Gaga and Cooper have earned chart success and awards show recognition for "Shallow." Bradbery says in a press release that she was "blown away" when she first heard the song: "The lyrics, arrangement, Gaga’s voice and the emotion … I was just speechless,” she admits.

This "Shallow" cover follows Bradbery's Yours Truly: 2018, a collection of three covers of songs released during 2018 that particularly affected the country singer. The artist recently joined Kane Brown on the road for his 2019 Live Forever Tour, and she's also at work on her third studio album, the follow-up to 2017's I Don't Believe We've Met.
