COVID cases have been on the rise over the last few days in Victoria County.  As of 5:00 yesterday there were 54 new confirmed cases in Victoria County. Active cases in Victoria County have risen to 154 and the total cases sit at 4,499.

Included in that number, Victoria school district officials reported eight new COVID-19 cases Monday.  The new cases were spread out through four different campuses: Patti Welder, Victoria West, Dudley, and Crain.  Get more information about the VISD cases by clicking here.

In keeping with Victoria ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families, staff, and the community that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the Cade Middle School campus on November 9, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details identifying him or her. Contact tracing has begun. If it is determined the COVID-positive person had close contact with any students or staff, the identified students and staff will be directly notified no later than November 10, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Those in close contact will remain off-campus for up to 14 days to ensure they do not have the virus and to ensure that there will be no further spread. Operations at Cade Middle School will continue as usual, and we will keep you apprised of further updates.

The STJ Flyers Flyers game on Friday vs. Second Baptist has been canceled due to COVID-19 cases on the other team.
