CONTROVERSY: Bathroom Doors Removed From Texas School
A Texas School is making news for removing their bathroom doors. My San Antonio reports that Boerne-Samuel V. Champion High School is taking bathroom doors off the hinges. The reason? Vaping has become a big issue not only at this school but at schools across the Nation! The move has become a controversial topic in the Hill Country area.What are your thoughts?
Beorne ISD has issued a statement...
“Due to an increase in the number of reports of vaping at Champion High School, additional measures to ensure student safety were recently taken. The enhanced measures include the removal of entrance doors form the hallway that lead into restrooms…”;
MORE SECURITY:
Bathroom doors aren’t the only solution implemented by the district. Campus security will continue to monitor restrooms during class times, and staff hallway assignments during passing periods have been adjusted to keep a closer eye on any kids looking to hit a pen.
AGAINST THE SCHOOL'S CODE OF CONDUCT:
According to the 2024-25 Student Code of Conduct, any student caught either giving away or possessing an e-cigarette will be sent to alternative school. The offense is considered a mandatory placement offense.
