Victoria residents can now request service from the City and track the status of requests using the City’s new app, Victoria TX 311.

The app lets users report water leaks, potholes, faulty traffic lights and many other types of nonemergency maintenance or service needs.

“As we look at ways to improve the services we provide for residents, we want to be sure that they are able to reach us in ways that are convenient for them,” said City Manager Jesús A. Garza. “This app makes it easier for residents to provide specific information about their needs so we can properly address the issue and make improvements.”

The person making the report can include photo or video, either by uploading a photo from the phone’s camera roll or by snapping a picture directly in the app.

Residents can add a location by typing in an address, clicking a spot on a map of Victoria or using the phone’s current location.

The app also lets users view the current status of service requests throughout Victoria, including reports from other residents. Residents can leave comments and view comments from other residents and City staff.

The app will help the City gather data about the locations, types and quantity of service requests that the City receives. It also allows the City to keep track of response times and other metrics that will help the City improve its performance.

Victoria TX 311 is powered by SeeClickFix, a government reporting app service that was founded in 2008 and is used in hundreds of cities.

The app is available for download in the App Store and the Google Play Store.
