Even during a year like 2020, we can still find lots to be thankful for. Like the hope that boxes like the one in the photo above bring to so many families this time of year.

That's a Toys for Tots donation box that is currently sitting over at 700 Main Center. Victoria is ready to be a part of the Marine Toys for Tots holiday toy drive and you can be a part of giving hope to others for the holidays.

If you are giving thanks with your family today, consider paying that hope forward to others who are facing a real struggle during the 2020 holiday season. City Manager Jesus Garza said in a press release that "This is part of our continuing effort to engage with the community and promote a culture of service throughout the City organization. Community involvement is an important value for all residents, and we hope our employees will lead by example.”

The public can drop off a new, unwrapped toy through December 19th at one of several drop box locations in town. You'll find the Toys for Tots drop boxes at the following locations:

  • 700 Main Center
  • City Hall at 105 W. Juan Linn St
  • Victoria Public Library at 302 N. Main Street
  • Victoria Fire Department Admin Building at 1703 E. Airline Road.
  • Any Victoria Fire Department Fire Station.

The Toys for Tots drop boxes are not your only options. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Victoria Fire Department will stop at both Walmart locations to accept toy donations. Each Fire Station in Victoria has also adopted a family in partnership with VISD Kidz Connection. Victoria FD's Blue Santa will also be showing up over the weekend to help Toys for Tots.

If you know of a family who would like to sign up for assistance from Toys for Tots you can find more information online at www.victoria-tx.toysfortots.org.

Wishing you a very Happy Holiday season.
