City of Victoria Closures for Christmas and New Year’s Day

All nonemergency City of Victoria offices will close Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas.

Offices also will close Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.

VICTORIA PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Victoria Public Library will close Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.

TRASH, RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE

There is no scheduled trash pickup on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Curbside recycling scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 25, will be collected Saturday, Dec. 28.

Curbside recycling and yard waste scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 1, will be picked up on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Yard waste will not be collected Dec. 25-Jan. 1 to accommodate extra garbage collection services.

EXTRA GARBAGE COLLECTION

Residents who have extra garbage from the holiday season that does not fit into the provided bin may place the excess garbage in standard trash cans or in plastic trash bags. The excess garbage will be picked up on regularly scheduled garbage collection days Dec. 26-31.

After this courtesy pickup time, all trash must again be placed inside the city-provided trash bins, and the lid must be able to close. Residents should not place the additional cans and bags within 5 feet of the gray city-provided bin. All trash and garbage must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.

CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION

Live Christmas trees will be collected on residents’ regularly designated yard waste collection days beginning Thursday, Jan. 2. Stands, lights, ornaments and other artificial materials must be removed from the tree. Artificial and flocked trees will not be accepted as yard waste.

LANDFILL AND COMPOST SITE

The landfill and the compost site will close Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

RIVERSIDE GOLF COURSE

Riverside Golf Course will close early at 3 p.m. Dec. 24. Tee times will stop at 11 a.m.

The course will close all day Dec. 25.

The course will be open Jan. 1.
