Christmas and New Years Schedule for the City of Victoria

Here is a list of what all is going to be open and closed during the Christmas and New Year's holiday for the City of Victoria. First of all, all non-emergency City of Victoria offices will close on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas. In addition, the offices will close on Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.

The Victoria Public Library

The Victoria Public Library will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25. The library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and remain closed on New Year's Day!

Holiday Garbage and Recycling Schedule

Trash pickup on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1 will be picked up the Wednesday before each holiday.

Recycling and yard waste pickups scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 25, will be collected Saturday, Dec. 27. Recycling and yard waste pickups scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 1, will be collected Saturday, Jan. 3

Discarding your Christmas Tree?

Live Christmas trees will be collected on residents’ regularly designated yard waste collection days beginning Monday, Jan. 5.

PLEASE NOTE: Stands, lights, ornaments, and other artificial materials must be removed from the tree. Artificial and flocked trees will not be accepted as yard waste.

The City of Victoria will host its annual fireworks display on New Year's Eve.

As 2025 comes to a close, the City of Victoria will once again be closing out the year with fireworks. The event will take place at Riverside Park, and fireworks will blast off at 9 p.m.
