The Children's Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent is looking for energetic, friendly, outgoing and dependable teens, ages 12-18, for its Youth Volunteer Program. Youth can spend their summer break as a summer camp volunteer, play with children, help to build and maintain exhibits, explore art and education with families, help in the office, assist with special events, public and educational programs and offer their time in many other ways. Develop new skills as you meet new people, make new friends and encourage learning through play, says the Victoria Advocate. Summer volunteers typically help out from three to 20 hours per week with the museum. Participants will be required to attend an orientation session with a parent May 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Stop by the museum, 204 N. Main St., to pick up an application or download it from cdmgoldencrescent.com. Call 361-485-9140 or email cdm204@sbcglobal.net with any questions. A letter of reference from someone other than a parent will be required as well as an interview prior to orientation before volunteering can begin. If you are not able to make the orientation, another time will need to be set up to review the rules and procedures.
