Chase Rice will return to his glory days with his upcoming Back to College Tour, on which he will be performing at college campuses around the country starting in in April.

The string of shows — formally titled the Campus Events Network Presents College Days Country Nights: The Chase Rice Back to College Tour — is currently seven dates on the schedule, including Rice’s Alma Mater the University of North Carolina on April 16. More concerts are expected to be added soon.

Rice says he wanted to be sure he had something fresh to bring to UNC and the other schools he plans to visit and to give back to the area that helped him get started, as he played in dive bars and nearby college towns.

“We wanted to take our time with this new album and I want to put the good, the bad and all the grit in between into these songs,” he explains via a news release. “The fans in a lot of these cities have been there for me since day one, so I’m looking forward to playing them some new music live and bringing them along on the next step of our journey."

Current dates for the Back to College Tour are listed below.

At the 2016 ACM Awards in April, Rice is nominated for New Male Vocalist of the Year, and he recently released the lead-off single from his upcoming record, titled “Whisper.” The song has been described by Rice as a bridge between his most recent album Ignite the Night, and his new album, which is yet to be titled but promises to have more depth. It immediately hit the top of the iTunes charts when it released Feb. 5 and will officially release to radio Feb. 29.
