The song easily ousted ‘Ex-Old Man’ by Kristen Kelly, meaning the country legend will move on to face a new challenger. Today, that’s another act new to American country music fans.

Thomas Rhett joined a select group of artists with songs in the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame on Monday when ‘Beer With Jesus’ became a five-time winner. The song will now be retired, meaning today’s Showdown will feature two new artists. Friday’s win for Justin Moore‘s ”Til My Last Day’ was the biggest in Taste of Country Showdown history. It was an absolute landslide for the Arkansas-born country singer, meaning his new song from ‘Outlaws Like Me’ will return again today and tonight on Taste of Country Nights, facing a new challenger.

Justin Moore made quick work of JB and the Moonshine Band on Thursday night. Fan support allowed his new song ”Til My Last Day’ to topple the Texas quartet with a big push coming during the Taste of Country Nights radio show. Moore’s followers are united in saying the thought-provoking lyric is amongst the best he’s released to radio.

Fans of Eli Young Band pulled off one of the greatest Showdown upsets of all time on Tuesday. The group’s new single ‘Say Goodnight’ topped Taylor Swift‘s brand new single from her upcoming ‘Red’ album, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.’ That makes it three in a row for the Texas foursome’s love ballad. Last night, the Eli Young Band and newcomer Chelsea Bain traded blows until the final minutes of the Showdown on Taste of Country Nights radio. Each artist rallied their fans to support their new song, but in the end, the new ballad from the Texas foursome notched just a few more votes than Bain’s ‘What if I.’

Eli Young Band may not be far removed from their search for country stardom, but their fans took no pity on newcomer Jon Pardi. The Texas group’s new song ‘Say Goodnight’ topped ‘Missin” You Crazy’ to earn another spin on Taste of Country Nights radio and more votes from fans on Taste of Country.
