Last years Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris said almost immediately after the broadcast that he “doubted” he would ever do it again, explaining, “I don’t know that my family nor my soul could take it.” Which, of course, meant that the search for a replacement was on almost immediately. But, if you’re looking for just one person, you may be barking up the wrong tree. This year’s Oscars producers say “there will be multiple hosts for sure.”

In the tradition of ScreenCrush series like You Think You Know Movies, You Think You Know TV, and Post Credits comes a brand new YouTube series: Top Five! Straight Outta Compton dominated the box office for the second weekend in a row, ensuring that every other movie in the top 10 that doesn’t feature Tom Cruise trembled in its mighty wake. Anyone with their finger on the cultural pulse foresaw the N.W.A. biopic doing well, but it’s performing above and beyond all expectations.

Tonight's move night featuring "Monsters INC" has been moved to DeLeon Plaza from Riverside Stadium!  Recent rains have made the grounds at Riverside Stadium saturated and not stable enough to support the big screen.  Nothing else has changed, it is still a free event for the family, which includes free popcorn and other vendors will be on site for your convenience...

Every time a movie about and for audiences who aren’t white and male does well, everyone acts like it’s a big surprise. “Black people and women like movies? Who’da thunk it?” It’s actually not surprising at all that Straight Outta Compton had a massive opening, handily defeating its more standard competition. Because all kinds of people like movies and when you make movies for all kinds of people, you end up with huge weekends at the box office.

This Friday it is another Movie night presented by the City of Victoria.  This weeks move feature will be "The Muppets" and of course this is a FREE EVENT!  There will be popcorn provided for you to enjoy.  There will also be other vendors selling refreshments...

This is the first in a series of 6 family-friendly movies presented Wednesdays & Saturdays, Aug. 5 - 22 at the Leo J. Welder Center in downtown Victoria. The first 5 movies are free, first-come first-served admission. The Aug. 22 sing-a-long movie is $5/person.
