Victoria is fortunate to have a very fine public library. Here is your chance to be supportive. The Friends of the Library in Victoria will hold its book sale Monday through Jan. 17 in the Bronte Room in the Victoria Public Library, 302 N. Main St. Pre-sale is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday for members only. Membership can be purchased at that time, if you aren't one already. Membership covers the whole year and has many benefits - including the ability to attend the pre-sales, says the Victoria Advocate. The Friends of the Library in Victoria hosts the book sale three times a year.

The sale will be open to the public during regular library hours, Monday through Jan. 16, and from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 17. On Jan. 17 all the remaining books will be sold at half the regular rate. But don't wait to the last minute to find that book you've always wanted to get. There is also a $1 bag of books special on this day. The books included in the sale will be fiction, nonfiction, children, home schooling, art, medical, textbooks, religion and many more genres. There will also be movies, music and other items.

The sale items have been donated to the library from citizens of Victoria County. All proceeds of the sale are used to buy books and other materials for the Victoria Public Library as well as fund reading programs and enrichment programs.
