The El Campo High School STARS will bring "Beauty and the Beast" to life as its fall production Thursday and Saturday at 7pm at the El campo High School Auditorium,.600 West Norris Street. Tickets are $8 at the door for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students.

The school's auditorium has transformed into a castle to help tell the story of Belle, a young girl living in a country town in France who dreams of adventure in far off places and a young prince doomed to live under a curse until he can find someone to see beyond his beastly outside appearance and into his heart. The production features 33 high school students making up the cast and crew, as well as 23 students from the El Campo elementary and middle schools. "We hope to encourage our audience to find their inner child or their inner princess,"director Katrese Skinner told the Victoria Advocate.

Children in the audience are encouraged to dress as princesses or knights to participate in the scholarship fundraiser, "A Rose for a Princess." Parents can purchase a rose in the lobby before the performance so that during intermission, the princesses will be called on stage to participate in the parade of gowns, where they will received their roses.

Pre-registration for "A Rose for a Princess" is available in the high school principal's office. For more information, email ksinner@ecisd.org.
