Astronaut Tracy Dyson Soars Singing ‘The River’ With Garth Brooks [Watch]
It's not every day Garth Brooks gets to sing with an astronaut, especially one with the voice of an angel!
Ahead of his opening performance at the 2018 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Brooks met up with Tracy Dyson, a NASA astronaut with some serious chops. She's based in Houston and caught the country star's attention last year when he saw a clip of her singing "The River." Dyson sings it before every space launch. She's also the lead singer of Houston-based band Max Q, an all-astronaut group of singers and musicians.

Brooks invited his new friend to appear on his weekly Facebook Live session as he prepared for his rodeo gigs (Feb. 27, March 18), and he even let her take lead on his song while offering guitar accompaniment. Brooks' face lit up as the words flowed from her mouth, and neither could grasp the moment fully.
"I've launched on a few rockets, but this has got to be one of the most intimating, intense things, but it's only saved by standing right here with you," Dyson admits in the clip after finishing what developed into a duet by mid-song.
Brooks is opening and closing Rodeo Houston, providing the end pieces for a Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Little Big Town sandwich (among many others).
